5 Best Perth Renovation Contractors for a Smarter Home Upgrade
A recent wander through a gorgeous bathroom design showroom had me mentally renovating half the house already. Naturally, that sent me looking for the best renovation contractor in Perth before inspiration gets wildly expensive.
Big renos come with more than tile samples and tapware envy. Council approvals, R-Codes, extensions, and older character homes can turn a dream project into serious admin.
That’s why I focused on contractors with solid workmanship, clear pricing, and timelines that don’t feel mysterious. These Perth renovation specialists are the ones I’d shortlist before knocking down a single wall.
How much does it cost to hire a renovation contractor in Perth?
Home renovation costs in Perth can range from around $17,700 to over $590,000. The final price depends heavily on the scale of the work.
A cosmetic refresh typically costs $17,700 to $70,800. Partial renovations, such as kitchens or bathrooms, can run from $70,800 to $177,000.
Whole-house renovations usually cost $177,000 to $590,000+. Major extensions and additions can fall between $300,000 and $380,000+.
A basic kitchen remodel costs around $9,400 to $23,600. Mid-range kitchens are roughly $28,000 to $45,000, while luxury projects can reach $53,000 to $94,400+.
Basic bathroom renovations typically cost $10,500 to $21,000. Mid-range bathrooms range from $21,000 to $36,750, while luxury remodels can reach $36,750 to $84,000+.
A laundry room refresh is considerably cheaper. Expect to spend around $3,500 to $9,400+.
1. Addstyle Master Builders

Address: 2/511 Wanneroo Road, Balcatta
Contact: 08 9345 2333
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM by appointment only
If I were renovating an older Perth home, Addstyle Master Builders would definitely make my shortlist.
They’ve been around since 1988 and have built a strong reputation for renovations, extensions, and character-home projects.
I like that they handle the process from design and working drawings through to approvals and construction. Having dedicated project supervision in the mix should make a major reno feel a little less like controlled chaos.
Their lump-sum, fixed-price contracts are another big plus once the plans are finalised.
Addstyle says it has collected more than 250 industry awards, which adds some serious weight to its long renovation track record.
The main catch is convenience if you prefer dropping in spontaneously. Their Balcatta design studio operates on weekdays and is by appointment only, so you’ll need to plan ahead.

Excellent Kitchen and Alfresco Renovation Experience
Just went through a kitchen and alfresco renovation with AddStyle and couldn’t be happier with the outcome. They use top-quality trades that have been with them for years. Building companies are only as good as their building supervisors, and in this case we struck gold by having Camila as ours. If you’re lucky enough to get Camila, then know that you are in good hands; from her organisational skills, communication and recommendations, she was superb. I would highly recommend AddStyle to anyone thinking of starting their renovation journey.

Major Renovation Delivered Ahead of Schedule
I could not have been happier with my experience renovating with AddStyle. The quality of their work is excellent, and the management of the build and communication has been exceptional. A special mention to Matt, who kept a close eye on the whole build to make sure everything ran smoothly and delivered the project ahead of schedule. All the staff and tradies have been a pleasure to deal with. Thanks, Addstyle. I highly recommend them to anyone considering a major renovation.

2. Amerex Renovations

Address: 1/171-173 Main St, Osborne Park
Contact: (08) 9227 1822 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 AM – 4:30 PM
If I were taking on a major Perth renovation, Amerex Renovations would be high on my list. They’ve collected more than 80 industry awards, including seven HIA WA Professional Small Builder/Renovator of the Year titles.
I like that they manage drawings, engineering, approvals, construction, and handover under one roof. For some projects, they can even set up temporary work zones so families may stay home while the chaos unfolds.
Their standard inclusions lean practical too, with strong insulation and lightweight concrete flooring for second-storey builds.
Plus, a 12-month maintenance guarantee gives the finished project a little extra reassurance.
The catch is the budget. Amerex typically doesn’t take on projects under $250,000, so they’re better suited to serious renovations than a quick kitchen tweak.

3. Sertorio Homes

Address: 6/7 Erindale Rd, Stirling
Contact: 08 9244 1993
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 AM – 4:30 PM
If I were opening up an older Perth home, Sertorio Homes would be one of the first builders I’d check out. They’ve been around since 1979 and bring more than four decades of local experience to renovations and extensions.
I like that their process includes 3D walkthroughs before the contract is signed. That makes it much easier to spot awkward layouts before anyone starts swinging a hammer.
They can handle design, approvals, permits, construction, and site management under one roof.
Their experience with character-home projects is especially handy if you’re renovating in one of Perth’s more established suburbs.
The catch is that you can’t bring your own outside trades onto the site during construction. Sertorio keeps that restriction in place because those workers wouldn’t be covered by its insurance.

Smooth Renovation with Reliable Post-Completion Service
We had a very good experience working with Sertorio on our home renovation project! Their commitment to smooth timelines, quality and attention to detail was impressive! From start to finish, our ideas were valued, and we appreciated the regular updates. Post-completion service has been prompt and reliable! To take it to the next level, we suggest: refining site supervisor-contractor communication would streamline processes even further.

Stress-Free Transformation of an Older Home
Sertorio Homes turned our run-down and old 3-bedroom house into a modern 4 x 2 house inside and out. During the whole renovation process, there were no delays and no problems, making the whole job completely non-stressful for us. All their tradesmen were excellent; the quality of the work done was brilliant. If you are after any form of home renovations, I recommend contacting Scott and the team at Sertorio; you will not be disappointed.

4. Lux Interiors | Luxury Home Renovations & Interior Design Perth

Address: U4/355 Stirling Highway, Claremont
Contact: (08) 9344 7607 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM
If I were planning a seriously polished Perth renovation, Lux Interiors would be hard to ignore. They bring design expertise and licensed building capability together, which should make the handover from pretty plans to actual construction much smoother.
Their portfolio covers major renovations, structural changes, extensions, and second-storey additions.
I like that they can steer a project from early design through to the build without making homeowners juggle quite so many moving parts.
The awards cabinet is pretty persuasive too, with multiple HIA wins and a KBDi Australian Bathroom Designer of the Year title. That gives their luxury positioning a bit more substance than glossy renders alone.
The main catch is availability. Lux deliberately takes on only a limited number of projects each year, so securing a spot may take some forward planning.

Exceptional Apartment Renovation from Design to Finish
Lux Interiors recently completed an extensive renovation of our apartment. Every single aspect of their work has been outstanding, from initial engagement and design development through to the construction and finishing stage. The Lux team has experienced, professional and deeply knowledgeable builders and designers, and works with tradesmen and cabinet makers of the highest calibre. Every detail of the build, big and small, was given the same rigorous care and attention. The end result is beyond our wildest dreams; we cannot recommend Lux highly enough. Simply put, they are the very best.

Professional En-Suite Bathroom Renovation
We engaged Lux Interiors to renovate our large en-suite bathroom. This company is extremely professional in every aspect. Their communication, scheduling, and the trades they employ. Renovation can be messy, but honestly, they prepared and cleaned up every day. The finished product was much better than I imagined. Their designer was a joy to work with, and I can not recommend them highly enough.

5. Simply Renovate

Address: State Route 13, Hilton
Contact: 0418 949 751
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7 AM – 5 PM
If I were tackling a smaller Perth reno, Simply Renovate would feel refreshingly practical. Director Brian Pimm brings more than 30 years of residential building experience, plus registered-builder and carpentry credentials.
I like that the process starts with an in-person visit before a detailed quote is prepared. That’s especially useful for wall removals, garage conversions, studios, granny flats, and other jobs where the existing structure matters.
They can help with planning, drafting, council approvals, and owner-builder support too. It makes them a handy option when you want experienced guidance without turning the project into a giant production.
The main limitation is scale. Simply Renovate specialises in small-to-medium renovations and additions, so very large rebuilds may sit outside their sweet spot.

Reliable Support Across Multiple Renovation Projects
I’ve employed Brian many times over the last 5 years throughout my renovation. Jobs included small 1-day tasks like removing a wall, all the way to 3-week, significant scopes. Brian is very clear in his communication and is always willing to work with us to achieve a good result. I have recommended him to many friends and family who have all had similar experiences. We will for sure be asking Brian to help out again in the future.

Excellent Owner-Builder Renovation Support
We found Brian last year when looking for a builder who would help us through our major renovation as owner builders. As keen DIYers but novice (to put it kindly) builders, we truly put Brian’s “owner builder friendly” assertion to the test. We were not disappointed. We have in fact been delighted with Brian and his team, having now come out the other side of a brand new workshop/garage build, a re-build of an old extension, a complete re-roof and bullnose verandah rebuild. We credit the success of our project to our luck in finding Brian.
