The 5 Best Pilates Studios in Australia Where Every Rep Is Worth the Sweat

  • Instructor Expertise: We checked out the qualifications of the teachers leading the classes. You need instructors who understand body mechanics and can safely correct your form.

  • Class Variety: We looked for studios offering different workout formats. Options like cardio and strength sessions help keep your routine fresh.

  • Studio Amenities: We considered the extra perks that make visiting a space more convenient. Features like clean facilities or post-workout refreshments add real value to your membership.

  • Schedule Flexibility: We reviewed the class timetables to see if they cater to early risers and late workers. A good studio should offer sessions across multiple times of the day.

Finding the best Pilates studio in Australia can feel a little overwhelming with so many options out there. We’ve bounced from one class to another (and tried a few questionable reformers!) to figure out which places are actually worth the hype.

Whether you’re new to Pilates or looking to level up your core game, there’s definitely a studio that’ll fit your vibe. Now, I’m sharing our favourite spots, from chic boutique spaces to relaxing, calming studios where the instructors know your name.

Let’s jump right into our list!

If you want a workout rooted in actual science, Studio Pilates International Bathurst Street Sydney is a fantastic choice.

A physiotherapist and a former Olympic swimmer founded the brand, meaning their routines are specifically sequenced to tone your body safely. Their 40-minute reformer sessions use Studio Pilates TV (SPTV) screens for exercise demonstrations.

This setup lets the live instructor focus entirely on checking your form and adjusting your spring resistance instead of just shouting moves from the front. They don’t force you into lock-in contracts, either, so you just buy prepaid class passes.

Plus, classes run early mornings and late evenings, making it super easy to fit a session into your busy schedule.

The only real downside is that these passes are tied to this specific location, meaning you can’t jump around to other branches.

  • Offers 40-minute classes across multiple dayparts
  • Morning and evening classes available

Cons

  • Prepaid passes only valid at purchase location

Customer Reviews

The classes are small so that the instructor can keep an eye on everyone

I had my first reformer pilates class at Bodyfirst, from the moment I entered the studio I was made very welcome. Julie took the class and it was wonderful, Julie and the team really know their stuff. Julie is extremely knowledgeable on the anatomy and can clearly explain why we should or should not move in particular ways. The class was all about slowing down and doing the movement safely and correctly. The classes are small so that the instructor can keep an eye on everyone. I would definitely recommend Bodyfirst Pilates. What a great Studio. 😀

Julie has provided me with targeted support in class to regain my strength

Incredible studio, authentic in its Pilates teachings, unpretentious and delivering a solid workout every session. Having struggled with abdominal separation after my second-born, I decided to find a Pilates instructor who I could trust to help me get back on track. Without having to do private lessons, Julie has provided me with targeted support in class to regain my strength and work on areas I did know I needed help with. I have felt a benefit in my posture, my abdomen and general wellbeing, thank you the Julie and the team!

The classes are thoughtfully structured

I can’t recommend this boutique reformer Pilates studio enough. The space is welcoming, the classes are thoughtfully structured, and there’s a strong focus on individual support. What truly stands out is the owner, Chris. He’s incredibly generous and thoughtful — when I was managing an injury, he personally called to let me know my package dates had been extended so I wouldn’t miss out. That level of care and integrity is rare. An absolute gem of a studio. ✨

The studio is so nice and clean

Just started doing Pilates here about 2 weeks ago and I have loved it since then! I have been attending class 2-3 times a week. The studio is so nice and clean plus aesthetically pleasing. My friends and I really enjoy doing Pilates here.

Matthew, the director, is super nice and really cares about new customers

Wellness Pilates is the best studio I’ve ever been to. Matthew, the director, is super nice and really cares about new customers. They walk you through everything and make sure you’re safe during the exercises. Plus, the studio is spotless and decorated really well. You should definitely check it out!😊

Every class feels almost like a one-on-one private session

I’ve been going to this Pilates studio for the past two months and absolutely love it. I initially bought a 10-class pack just to try it out, and very quickly ended up purchasing more classes. I’ve even brought two of my sisters along, which says a lot! The instructors are incredibly kind, attentive and genuinely care. Every class feels almost like a one-on-one private session, which I really appreciate. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a welcoming, high-quality Pilates studio.
