5 Best Photography Studios in Gold Coast for Your Next Shoot

  • Photography Quality & Portfolio: We looked for polished, creative work that stays consistently strong. A pretty studio means little if the final shots fall flat.

  • Studio Facilities & Equipment: We checked the lighting, backdrops, props, and shooting space. Good gear keeps the session running smoothly.

  • Pricing & Transparency: We compared rates, inclusions, and package details. No one likes surprise costs sneaking into the final bill.

  • Customer Experience & Communication: We considered responsiveness, professionalism, and ease of booking. Clear, friendly communication makes shoots far less stressful.

  • Reputation & Customer Feedback: We reviewed recurring praise and complaints from past clients. Consistent feedback usually tells you what the glossy portfolio won’t.

I rarely have a genuinely good hair day, so when a top local hair salon finally gets everything behaving, I want photographic evidence!

That sent me looking for the best photography studio in Gold Coast to make the moment count.

A great studio can turn a decent photo into something I’d actually keep as my profile picture for more than a week. So I checked out local options with the right lighting, setup, and creative feel and found some worth reviewing.

How much does it cost to visit a photography studio in Gold Coast?

Photography studio hire in Gold Coast usually costs $130 to $390 per hour. Rates depend on the studio size and included equipment.

A half-day booking of around four hours may cost about $400 plus GST. A full-day hire of roughly eight hours can range from $700 to $1,250 plus GST.

Extra lighting and equipment can add another $150 to $250. Check what’s included before booking, as some studios bundle basic gear into the hire fee.

1. Gold Coast Studio

gold-coast-studio

Website

Address: 17A Ern Harley Drive, Burleigh Heads

Contact: 0449 250 450

Hours: Daily, 8:30 AM – 5 PM

Gold Coast Studio feels built for shoots where you need room to move and don’t want another crew wandering into frame. I like that bookings are private, so the space is yours while you’re working.

Studio 1 has a large cyclorama, green rooms, makeup stations, and kitchen facilities. Studio 2 gives you a brighter natural-light setup with skylights and a movable cyclorama.

There’s plenty of production gear available too, from lighting to audio equipment, although some items may cost extra. That flexibility makes the studios handy for everything from portraits to larger commercial shoots.

The main catch is timing. Early starts and shoots that run past 5:30 PM can attract additional fees, so it pays to keep an eye on the clock.

Some lighting, camera, and audio equipment may also require separate hire fees rather than being included in the base studio booking, which can push up the final cost.

Pros

  • Private studio bookings
  • Two versatile shooting spaces
  • Large cyclorama and natural-light options
  • Green rooms, makeup stations, and kitchen facilities
  • Lighting and audio equipment available

Cons

  • Some equipment may cost extra
  • Early starts and shoots past 5:30 PM can incur additional fees

Incredible experience

I’ve shot at Gold Coast Studio at least 10 times now and always have an incredible experience. From equipment to staff knowledge and friendliness, natural lighting options and technical assistance, this studio has it all. Would definitely recommend to any creative or business owner looking to capture high-level photo and video content!

One of the best studios on the Coast

After multiple shoots at Gold Coast Studio, I can confidently say this place is one of the best studios on the Coast. The space is cutting-edge, incredibly versatile, and always presented to a high standard.

Whether you’re shooting photography, video, campaigns, or content, the studio has everything you need. The cyclorama is immaculate, the facilities are excellent, and the team behind the studio are always professional, accommodating, and easy to work with. Absolute legends!

2. 11past11studio

11past11studio

Website

Address: U10 7 Villiers Drive, Currumbin Waters

Contact: 0452 077 220

Hours: Monday to Friday 8 AM to 8 PM, Saturday to Sunday 10 AM to 6 PM

11past11studio feels geared towards brands that want polished content without juggling several suppliers.

I like that photography and videography are both available in-house, which keeps shoots a little less chaotic.

They cater to e-commerce, branding, headshots, and digital campaigns, so the setup suits more than one kind of project. Their product photography and personal branding sessions are especially handy for businesses refreshing their online presence.

Weekday hours run until 8 PM, which gives you more breathing room for after-work shoots. Weekend availability helps too if your weekday calendar is already bursting at the seams.

The catch is the minimum hire period. Weekday bookings start at three hours, while weekends and public holidays require four, so quick shoots may not be the best fit.

Pros

  • In-house photography and videography
  • Suitable for e-commerce, branding, headshots, and campaigns
  • Product photography packages available
  • Weekday hours extend until 8:00 PM
  • Weekend bookings available

Cons

  • Minimum three-hour hire on weekdays
  • Minimum four-hour hire on weekends and public holidays

Absolute best experience

Had the absolute best experience at 11 Past 11 with Masa! He did my partner’s headshots and absolutely nailed it. The studio itself has such a cool, relaxed vibe; you walk in and just feel good. Masa made everything super comfortable, easy, and fun. He’s got such a creative eye, loads of ideas, and really takes the time to try different things to get the perfect shot.

Also… Maggie, his adorable dog, is the real MVP…sweetest little studio assistant ever 🐶💛

Everything about it was just fabulous. Highly recommend, and yes, we’ll definitely be back. Thanks again, Masa!

Good experience

Originally, I booked with 11past11 studio for a personal/professional photoshoot. I didn’t have much experience in front of a camera, especially in a studio, but Masa helped coach me, and we ended up with some solid photos. I just booked my second session last week, and the photos were unreal. Masa is really dialled in his approach to photography and knows how to get the most out of every shot.

3. Creative Focus Studios

Website

Address: 4/14 Energy Crescent, Molendinar

Contact: 0466 033 336

Hours: Monday to Thursday: 9 AM – 5 PM, Friday: 8 AM – 5 PM, Saturday & Sunday: 9 AM – 5 PM

Creative Focus Studios feels like the sort of place where you can walk in with a rough idea and actually make it look polished.

I’m especially fond of the air-conditioning, because creative genius is hard enough without melting under studio lights!

The Molendinar space has a large cyclorama, paper backdrops, a makeup area, waiting space, and lounge facilities. You can bring your own gear or hire lighting on-site, which is handy if you don’t fancy hauling half a studio with you.

There’s professional photography support available if the technical side starts getting fiddly.

Weekend hours are a nice bonus too, especially when weekday schedules are already packed.

The catch is the booking policy. Full payment is required upfront, and payments are non-refundable, so spontaneous plan changes could sting a little.

Pros

  • Air-conditioned studio
  • Large cyclorama and paper backdrops
  • Makeup, waiting, and lounge areas
  • Bring-your-own-gear option
  • Lighting equipment available for hire
  • Professional photography support available
  • Open seven days a week

Cons

  • Full payment required to secure a booking
  • Payments are non-refundable

Highly recommend

We went into the studio to get some headshots done for Dale and had such a great experience. Wesley was amazing. Professional, relaxed, and really knew how to make the whole process feel easy and natural. The photos turned out great, and it was just a genuinely good morning all round. Thank you so much. Highly recommend.

Exceptionally fitted out

Wes was amazing to work with. He made the team relaxed and comfortable to bring out the best in their images. The studio is exceptionally fitted out, comfortable and air-conditioned, with everything you need to get ready for the shoot and additional props on hand.  Highly recommended if you need professional corporate shots.

4. Hawker Studios

Website

Address: Warehouse 6, 2–6 Hawker Street, Currumbin Waters

Contact: [email protected]

Hours: Daily, 7 AM – 5 PM

I’m a sucker for a studio that can make even my half-baked shoot ideas look intentional. Hawker Studios wins points straight away with natural light that does a lot of the flattering work for you.

The studio has high ceilings, skylights, white concrete floors, curated furniture, plinths, and textured backdrop options. The included furniture and styling pieces make it especially handy for branding and content shoots.

There’s an air-conditioned upstairs area too, which sounds very appealing once a long shoot starts feeling like cardio.

Its Currumbin Waters location sits close to the M1, so getting there is fairly straightforward.

The main quirk is the pricing. Seven-hour and eight-hour bookings cost the same, so you may as well use the full day if your schedule allows.

Pros

  • Plenty of natural light from skylights
  • High ceilings and white concrete floors
  • Curated furniture, plinths, and textured backdrops included
  • Air-conditioned upstairs area
  • Close to the M1
  • Open seven days a week

Cons

  • Seven-hour and eight-hour bookings cost the same
  • Full-day pricing may feel less flexible for shorter shoots

A great experience

I recently shot at Hawker Studios (27) and had a great experience.

The space has an awesome vibe, heaps of natural light and a really great amount of chairs/backdrops to work with.  If you’re on the Gold Coast and need a studio space, definitely check them out.

Can’t wait to be back

Dare I say it… the best photo studio on the GC!!

My go-to studio to create content as the lighting is always perfect, no matter what time of the day.  The studio is thoughtfully curated with a fantastic assortment of props and furniture, giving you so much creative flexibility.

Lately, I have been using their upstairs space a lot as it feels more like a living space rather than a photo studio -perfect for creating authentic content! Can’t wait to be back x

5. Flavr Studios

flavr-studios

Website

Address: 13 Price Street, Southport

Contact: +61 414 072 445

Hours: Daily, 6 AM – 10 PM

Flavr Studios feels like the kind of place where you could arrive with one shoot idea and leave with five.

I like that the Southport studio gives you plenty of variety without making you lug half your creative kit through the door.

There’s a cyclorama room, more than ten backdrops, natural light, props, a lounge area, and a changing room. Air-conditioning and constant lighting are included too, which keeps things comfortable when shoots start running long.

The 6 AM to 10 PM hours are a big plus if you need to work around odd schedules. Afterpay is available as well, which takes some sting out of spreading the cost.

The catch is the cancellation policy. Bookings are non-refundable, although you can reschedule with enough notice.

Pros

  • More than 10 backdrop options
  • Cyclorama room and natural-light setup
  • Props, lounge, and changing room included
  • Air-conditioning and constant lighting available
  • Open from 6 AM to 10 PM daily
  • Afterpay available

Cons

  • Bookings are non-refundable
  • Rescheduling requires enough advance notice

Can’t wait to be back!

The perfect studio for content creation! It’s such a beautiful space and so thoughtfully curated. We had everything we needed and were able to shoot 3 different scenes. The team were so helpful in the lead-up as well, accommodating requests without hesitation. Easy self-check-in process too. Can’t wait to be back!

Lovely service

Incredible studio, organised, clean, fully furnished and equipped with a stunning cyclorama.

I’d strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a retro/vintage aesthetic as the colours, props and lighting at Flavr will do most of the work for you.

Lovely service, great prices and a lovely coffee shop down the street.
